toastie takeover - melt everest

the great new zealand toastie takeover is back for another season, bringing the humble toastie to the forefront of hospitality across the country!

chef sudip + our team have created a toastie honouring the historic connection between new zealand and nepal. we reckon sir ed and tenzing would have loved this fusion of traditional nepalese flavours in an iconic kiwi toastie. nepalese spiced lamb mince, teamed with tasty cheddar, mozzarella, McClure's sweet & spicy pickles, coriandar, spring + pickled onions on turkish bread. served with cucumber, tomato, pickle and spicy nepalese tomato chutney.  we can't wait for you to knock the b@#$%&d off!

melt everest follows on from capers cafe + store's previous success. "brotha mmm" won people's choice and made the finals in 2024, while "braised birria brotha" became a finalist in a strong field of over 280 entries last year.
